DMS is pleased to announce the supply of EGFM (a water filtration media part of the Enviro Glasmedia family) to Sir John Deane’s Leisure Centre, Northwich.
To keep a swimming pools water crystal clear and inviting to swim in, is an involved process. A vital part of this process is the pool's water filters. which are partially filled with a filtering media and they do the job of filtering out suspended solids including body matter and dirt, which contain bacteria such as e.coli and cryptosporidium, from the water.
Sir John Deanes have been in continuous operation since 1972, serving the local community with general public swimming facilities, swimming lessons to local schools and providing a number of popular swimming clubs, and had become a victim of its own success. The plant room was in need of a major overhaul and a main part of the refurbishment was the replacement of the two swimming pool water filters.
Total Pool Chemicals of Chester, providers of the plant room work took the opportunity to change the filter media from sand to EGFM, Eco Glass Filter Media.
EGFM not only has the 'green' credentials, it also works more effectively than sand.
